Features

The Sidi Adventure 2 Gore-Tex boots are one of the most popular adventure motorcycle boots on the market. The first Sidi Adventure boots were extremely popular and the second version are proving just as good.

They come with Gore-Tex waterproofing and an inner gaiter to keep water out (the gaiter is higher in the 2s than in the original Sidi Adventure). The boots are fastened with a two-buckle closure and Velcro strap.

They come with a heft shin protector and both inner and outer ankle protectors and there’s tough plastic protectors on the toe box up front and the heel.

The Sidi Adventures also feature a non-slip sole, removable arch support and elastic in the calf area to improve fit.

What’s good?

I used the Sidi Adventure 2 Gore-Tex boots for around three years in the UK and Europe while testing adventure bikes. I narrowed my boots down to two: the Sidi Adventures and Alpinestars Toucans (discontinued and replaced by the Alpinestars Corozal boots), which in my opinion are the two best adventure bike boots on the market.

The Sidi Adventure boots were put through their paces on thousands of enduro, gravel and tarmack miles and they never leaked on me (not once) and after some serious bashing around they haven’t been damaged in anyway. So, it’s fair to say that the build quality is impeccable. You can feel that they’re a premium product when you first handle them.

The level of protection is also right up there with heavy duty shin and ankle protectors – you feel safe in these. However, protection usually comes with a payoff for flexibility and comfort, but the Sidis are all-day comfy. They do take a few weeks to fully break in, but are quite flexible and comfortable thereafter.

They’re easy to get on and off with two big buckles and a Velcro tab, the calf area is expandable and there’s generally good flexibility throughout the boot (but without compromising on protection). Italian boots are usually quite narrow – especially in the toe box, but these are wide with plenty of room to let your feet and toes breath.

What’s not?

The only complaint on these boots is the squeak you sometimes get, but my Alpinestars Toucans also had this. There are loads of ‘home-remedies’ to fix it online if it bothers you.

Round-up

The Sidi Adventure 2 boots are premium and rugged with an exceptionally high build quality. They’re fully waterproof, comfortable and protective – everything you could ask for in an adventure bike boot.
