Features

Oxford claim the Hardcore XC13 is the UK’s biggest selling approved chain and padlock. So, what better device to use to lock our motorcycles?

The chain itself is made using 13mm square chain links and has a sleeve to protect the paintwork.

The padlock has a hardened steel lock body with an 11mm concealed shackle.

Oxford say this makes the chain lock 5-minute attack tested and resistant to drills, saws, bolt croppers, sledgehammers and is freeze tested too.

All of the above earns the Oxford XC13 Sold Secure Powered Cycle Gold approved and ART 4* certification. It also meets the Police Preferred Specification and has been accredited Secured by Design (SBD).

The chain comes in three different lengths (1.2 / 1.5 and 2m) and the set comes with three keys.

What’s good?

The Oxford XC13 is a beefy chain and lock system. It’s not ridiculously heavy so it’s easy to move about and is a decent size. The rubberised shock case and key dust cover are nice touches too.

While we have (thankfully) not had the chain and lock ‘tested’, the list of impressive accolades the Oxford chain comes with are impressive enough to keep our minds at rest that our bikes are protected.

Round-up

The Oxford XC13 Chain and Lock is a well-priced security system for your motorcycle. It’s easy to use, thick, solid, looks and feels well-made and comes fully approved.
